Anyone planning to visit Paris needs to find out what the requirements are for traveling to France, whether you're going as a business traveler, a student, or a pleasure traveler. This includes checking into the France visa requirements. France is in the Schengen area, and most non-EU visitors - Americans, Canadians, Australians and others - can stay up to 90 days in any 180 without a visa. Two things have changed since this page was first written and both catch people out. British passports are now third-country passports: since Brexit, UK visitors are on the same 90-in-180 limit as everyone else, and the clock counts days across the whole Schengen area, not just France. And ETIAS, a paid online travel authorisation for visa-free visitors, has been repeatedly postponed but is coming; once it starts you will need one before you fly.
